ISM (Internationales Studentinnenwohnheim Müngersdorf, International Hall of Residence for Women Students) is a different kind of student accommodation on offer in Cologne. Similar in style to a British college, it combines real family warmth with an atmosphere of serious study, plus an opportunity for interdisciplinary learning.

ISM is place where you can work together, develop your cultural and religious interests, and put your leisure time to good use in all sorts of ways. ISM is open to women students of every nationality, academic discipline, and denomination.

The residence is owned by the Deutsch-Internationaler Kulturverein e.V., a registered society for the promotion of German and international culture founded in 1960.

Educational initiatives at ISM are organised by students and young professionals, some of whom are members of Opus Dei, a worldwide personal prelature of the Catholic Church. Opus Dei's specific purpose is to awaken people to the fact that their everyday work, social life and family life are meeting-places with God. The spiritual and religious education offered at ISM is the responsibility of priests of the Opus Dei prelature.
